8 Tips For Your Next Trade Show
Getting ready for your next big trade show? Then you know that there’s a lot of work that goes into creating a beautiful exhibit that represents your brand or company well. From color choices to banner sizes to pamphlet content, there are a lot of decisions to make.
In order to make that decision process easier, we’ve come up with a few tips that will help you prepare a booth that will make you and your people proud. Here are eight ways to ensure that your next trade show exhibit is a smashing success.
1. Choose a Cohesive Theme
Even before you decide what you’d like to have at your booth (banners, decals, pamphlets, etc.), you should decide on a cohesive theme for all of your materials.
Colors, fonts, images, slogans – all of these are important aspects that will make your booth more visually appealing. If the various materials do not carry a cohesive theme, the result could be a messy look that doesn’t draw people in.
2. Colors Matter
As mentioned, color is an important part of making your trade show display stand out. Think about the message and brand you are advertising, and strategize about what colors would best represent them.
You want your design to catch a person’s attention, and not in a bad way. Sample some reactions to your color choices to make sure the overall effect is appealing.
3. Images Come First
Aside from color, images are the first thing a person will see when looking at your display – long before they have a chance to read any of your text. This means that your images should be chosen carefully.
As people are meandering through a busy trade show, it is unlikely they will stop to read a carefully crafted message, but an eye-catching image may cause them to give your booth a second look.
4. Understand Large Format Printing
A lot goes into large format printing, and it’s important that you understand this before creating your larger displays (banners, big color posters, pop-up banners, etc.).
A beautiful design doesn’t always translate when transferring it to a larger format. You can learn more about how to be sure your large format materials look great here.
5. Stay Current
While a logo or design may have sentimental value to your company, there comes a time that you may need to consider updating these things in order to appeal to a newer audience.
Graphic design has come a long way since the advent of Photoshop in the ‘90s, and your company’s design may need a little sprucing before your next show. For example, minimalistic design has gained popularity, so if your design is a little busier, consider simplifying.
6. Choose the Right Materials
There are many materials you can consider printing for your next trade show exhibit. Here are just a few that we recommend:
- Event Signage
- Banners and Flags
- Pop-up Banners
- Posters
- Table Tents
- Presentation Materials
- Decals, Stickers, and Labels
7. Check Your Content!
There’s nothing worse than a beautiful design that contains a glaring typo or mistake. Just as a builder must measure twice and cut once, be sure to proofread twice (or more!) before you print.
8. Use a High Quality Printer
When your printing trade show materials you need a great printer to ensure all of your materials are of the highest and best quality. At Harvest Print we’ll help you design and print trade show materials that are worthy of the brand or company you are representing.
